Restructuring seismic ship company Polarcus is booking a non-cash charge of $242m after reviewing asset values.

The Middle Eastern owner said it had completed a test based on discounted cash flows to arrive at the impairment figure.

They will be accounted for in the fourth quarter and comprise charges related to ship and seismic equipment values of $215m and intangible assets of $27m.
