Industrial action by Norwegian oil workers could be stepped up at any time, the Industri Energi union has warned.

Seven rigs are out of action after talks overseen by the state broke down on 21 September, prompting more than 300 workers to walk out at Schlumberger, Halliburton, Baker Hughes, Oceaneering and Oceaneering Asset Integrity.

"We're satisfied with the current level of the strike but are monitoring continuously and can't rule out further escalation at very short notice.
