Carnival Corp is diverting six of its US-based passenger ships away from port calls in Jamaica, the Bahamas and other Caribbean destinations due to hurricane Matthew. Royal Caribbean is diverting four ships.

According to a statement from the Miami-based Carnival, the 3,000-berth Carnival Splendor (built 2008), 2052-berth Carnival Sensation (built 1993), and the 2,758-berth Carnival Victory (built 2000), which all embarked from Florida over the weekend, will bypass or switch scheduled calls in Ocho Rios in Jamaica, Freeport, Nassau and Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas, and Grand Turk Island through Wednesday.
