Doug Barrow, a 40-year veteran of the bunker supply business, has been named as the new boss of the UK flag after nearly 18 months of stop-start efforts to implement the country’s maritime growth strategy.
Barrow, who has been chief executive of promotional body Maritime London since 2006, will take over as director of the UK Ship Register in a part-time role this month before starting full time in April.
