Nigeria's navy has claimed success in fighting off pirate attacks on a suezmax and an LPG carrier.
It said in a statement it had managed "another major feat" in rescuing the vessels from approaching gunmen, AP reported.
Navy personnel were said to have saved the 22,759-cbm Gaz Providence (built 2010), operated by Nafotmar, on Tuesday, after reacting to a distress call.
The vessel had 21 crew on board when it came under attack off Bonny Island.
