Australian ports and rail group Asciano is eyeing higher second half earnings after a stronger first six months.

The company posted net profit of AUD 113.9m ($121.3m) to 31 December, up from AUD 93.9m the year before.



Revenue rose to AUD 1.7bn from AUD 1.56bn.



Second-half pre-tax and interest earnings are expected to top those in the first half, Asciano chief executive John Mullen said.
