The Marshall Islands Registry has come a long way since 1990, when it was taken over by International Registries. At the time it had just six vessels - now it has more than 3,000.
The story of how the registry came into being goes back to the end of the Second World War, when the Marshall Islands were wrested from Japanese occupation.
