Songa Bulk, the Arne Blystad bulker acquisition vehicle, has wasted little time expanding its fleet with deals for two modern supramaxes.
It has agreed to acquire a 58,000-dwt bulker, built 2009 at Tsuneishi Zhoushan, for $11.85m in cash. The ship will be renamed Songa Marlin.
The second deal involves the purchase of a 2012-built bulker from Greek shipowner Equinox Maritime, which will also see the latter become a Songa Bulk shareholder.
