A panamax containership delivered in January 2010 has reportedly been sent for scrap, according to shipbrokers.
The ship involved is reported to be Hammonia Reederei’s 4,256-teu Hammonia Grenada (built 2010), according to VesselsValue.
The online valuations platform said the 17,544-ldt ship was sold “as is” in China for $315 per ldt, or just over $5.5m.
However, latest AIS data has the vessel, which was built at China’s Jiangsu New Yangzijiang, anchored off Singapore.
