XT Shipping is reported to have offloaded a capesize bulker for demolition in Bangladesh.
It is said to have sold the 172,515-dwt Cape Tavor (built 1999) for $345.50 per ldt, according to cash buyers GMS.
The Idan Ofer-controlled shipowner will pick up around $7.3m from the sale of the 21,220-ldt vessel.
“Most of the major end buyers in Bangladesh displayed an acute apathy to compete at the levels that many cash buyers have been offering their tonnage of late,” said GMS.
