Empros Lines of Greece is selling its oldest ship, a 15-year-old supramax bulker.
The George Makrymichalos-led company has fetched $6.85m for the Imabari-built 53,000-dwt Alitis (built 2002) from an undisclosed buyer, sources say.
The price appears firm. Last month the Tsuneishi Cebu -built 52,000-dwt 26 Agustos (built 2002) was sold for $5.3m.
Earlier this month Empros was linked to a purchase of the Penglai-built 75,000-dwt bulker Conti Spinell (built 2011) for $11.05m.
