A sale of one of Teekay Tankers’ oldest aframaxes has set a new price precedent in the sector
The 113,400-dwt Kyemma Spirit (built 1999) sold for $7.7m, as TradeWinds newspaper reported this week.
Brokers note that the deal marks the latest decline in tanker asset values, with one sale and purchase specialist suggesting it is a rock bottom number.
