UK-based Zodiac Maritime is again the focus of scrapping speculation with reports that the company has sold its oldest bulker for demolition to Bangladesh.

Sources say the 270,000-dwt Laiwu Steel Harmonious (built 1989) has gone for $14.5m to $15m. It is understood to have been on a long-term charter contract.

TradeWinds was unable to obtain comments from Zodiac. Last month, market sources said the company had sold the 264,000-dwt bulker Handan Steel (built 1994) for scrap in a deal worth $12.5m
