Greek or Greece-based companies have purchased more than 150 ships in 2017 to the end of June, according to data compiled by TradeWinds.

This estimate is based on confirmed and finalised deals, in which vessels have been, or are about to be, delivered to their new owners.

Around $2.6bn changed hands in these transactions, about one quarter of the $10bn that brokers said was spent worldwide on sale-and-purchase (S&P) deals in that period.
