Tufton Oceanic is making further investments in the boxship sector with brokers reporting today that it has acquired seven feeder-sized containerships in a deal valued at $50m.

The vessels involved are the AKER CS class, 2,478-teu Frisia Wismar, Frisia Kiel, Frisia Rostock, Frisia Rotterdam, Frisia Lissabon, Frisia Lubeck (all built 2004), and Frisia Helsinki (built 2005).

The ships are owned by individual German KG companies and managed by Hartmann Schiffahrts of Leer.
