Chinese owners are proving to be eager buyers of vintage Greek-controlled dry bulk tonnage.
Clients of Athens’ TST International have sold the 45,600-dwt Dokos (built 1997) to Far Eastern interests for $4.2m, according to market sources. The company declines to comment.
One-third of all pre-2000-built bulkers offered for sale by Greek owners over the past year have been picked up by Chinese companies, according to data compiled by TradeWinds.
