Oil major Chevron is selling a third Samsung-built aframax tanker in six months to Greek interests.

Shipbroking sources from the UK and US suggest Piraeus-based Horizon Tankers is in the process of buying the 104,900-dwt Vega Voyager (built 2003) for $10.8m.

However, managers at the Anthony E Comninos-led company declined to comment.

If the deal goes through, it would be Horizon Tankers’ first sale-and-purchase move for more than two years and mark a notable expansion in the crude oil segment.
