A pair of Russian tankers have been sold to repay bunker debts in Ukraine.

Law firm Interlegal said the 4,000-dwt Niagara (built 1981) and 3,300-dwt Borislav (built 1990) were arrested as part of a dispute involving their owner Volgo-Don Shipping Agency of Volgograd, and three large foreign bunker groups.

Three long-term commercial court cases in Kherson resulted in costs of $106,000 being recovered by the suppliers, the company told TradeWinds.
