Technical director Simon Rogers says Windship’s projections for a zero-emission vessel show the technologies can achieve an 80% fuel consumption reduction straight away.
“We are knocking on an 80% power reduction if we add it all together on a new ship. You are still going to need same size diesel engines — and can make up the 20% with biofuels,” he says.
