Tonnage-hungry MPC Container Ships has sealed another big acquisition in its bid to reach 100 vessels.
The Oslo-listed owner said it had agreed to buy five feederships from Dubai's Simatech Shipping & Forwarding.
A fee of $41.9m in cash will see it add the 1,200-teu Sima Pride (built 2004) and Sima Perfect and Sima Prestige (both built 2005), as well as the 1,400-teu Sima Sapphire (built 2006) and Sima Sadaf (built 2007).
