The veil of secrecy has been lifted from a supramax deal on New Year’s Eve that had left the market guessing about which Greek shipowner was on the buying side.

Ghikas J Goumas-led Equinox Maritime has emerged as the new owner of the 55,600-dwt Rose Balsam (built 2011).

News of the sale was initially reported in early January. Market data provider IHS Markit is now listing the bulker as part of the Equinox fleet under its new name, Tegea.
