YesterdayDiana announced it had picked up a 98,700-dwt resale at Tsuneishi Zhoushan in a$24.6m swoop.

Analystsnote the price is a long way below the numbers brokers have been quoting forsimilar tonnage.

“The price of $24.6mis in our view highly favourable as broker quoted levels for standard panamaxesare at $29m,” said Erik Nikolai Stavseth of Arctic Securities.

“We expect DSX tocontinue acquiring tonnage as prices remain at attractive levels.”

Michael Webber ofWells Fargo notes Diana’s second buy from the yard this year is below the $28mfigure he has seen floated by brokers for such ships.
