The company wants to expand its offshore construction operations to build semi-submersible platforms, drillships, FPSOs and pipe-laying vessels, Sino Ship News reported.
Most of China Merchants' offshore businesses are currently in southern China.
Haixin has recently signed a contract with China Railway Port and Channel Engineering Group to build a barge and a pipe-layer.
