The company was awarded the job by Vyborg Shipyard which has a three ship deal with the Russian Ministry of Transport.
Vyborg will build the hulls and provide the design and major components for the EUR 100m ($133m) vessel.
Arctech, a 50/50 joint venture set up two years ago by STX Finland and Russia’s United Shipbuilding Corp, will complete the construction and commissioning of the vessel before delivery in 2015.
