The company sent
the 42,000-dwt Saudi Abha (built 1983) to the breakers yard in India.
It did not
reveal the value of the sale but said it would book a net profit of $5.6m after
expenses.
TradeWinds
reported last week that the vessel had gone for $475 per ldt or $8.7m in a deal
that included 250 tonnes of bunkers.
The sale is
part of Bahri’s rejuvenation programme with three sister ships still waiting to
be offloaded.
It has lined
up six general cargoship newbuildings to replace the ageing tonnage.
Bahri posted a net profit of SAR 500.4m in 2012 compared to SAR 287.7m in the previous year.
