The 33,000-gt cargoshipEurocargo Genova (built 2010) was fitted with a new 200-tonne bulbous bow after“suffering damage” stretching back 30 metres on the hull, Palumbo said.

The new bow had been prefabricatedprior to the arrival of the vessel.

“When the ship entered the dock,alignment was achieved after taking off the damaged section,” Palumbo added.
