The company behind Foss Maritime and Totem OceanTrailer Express has acquired a 66-acre property at Everett, about 50km north ofSeattle.
Thewaterfront site has been bought from Kimberly-Clark and was formerly home to apulp mill and tissue plant.
Saltchuksays the deal will initially create about 250 skilled jobs and create a “vitalshipbuilding and maritime industry in the heart of Everett”.
Fewother details emerged as to what type of ships the facility will build but Saltchuksaid there is a strong potential to create additional jobs at the site in thefuture.
