Knutsen is returning to RS Platou five years after leaving the Peter Anker-led company for its Norwegian rival.

Anker revealed the change in an email today which says Holst will step down as head of the department at the start of next year.

Holst, 55, is not leaving Platou and will continue as a senior partner, a member of its executive committee and as an advisor to the board.

Anker paid tribute to Holst, who he has worked alongside since 1987. “Wilhelm has done a tremendous job and I hope to work alongside him for many years to come,” Anker told TradeWinds.

Knutsen, who previously spent seven years with Platou after joining from Lorentzen & Stemoco, is described by Anker as a “well-recognised astute broker”.

Anker says today’s change are part of the company’s planning for the future. “None of us are getting any younger,” he joked.

Odd Jacob Fritzner, head of shipping at Pareto, says his company is well prepared for Knutsen’s departure.

Fritzner himself is now heading Pareto's S&P division.
