The state-owned shipbuilder says it has secured fiveultramax vessels from Shangdong Landbridge Group.
A Chengxi official says his company is slated to deliverthe 64,000-dwt bulker newbuildings between late 2016 and 2017.
He did not disclose the price of the newbuildings, but industry experts suggest they are costing around $28m each.
Landbridge’s is believed to be the third ultramaxnewbuilding contract that Chengxi has secured this year.
