The ship, which is duefor delivery by mid-2016, is identical to a vessel ordered at MHI by theJapanese energy firm late last year.
The 83,000-cbm gascarrier will be built at MHI’s Nagasaki Shipyard & Machinery Works. No financial terms were disclosed.
Astomos Energypresently operates a total of 23 VLGCs – six are owned, while the remainingseventeen are chartered in.
Its medium-termbusiness plan is to expand the volume of LPG it transport by 20% from thepresent 10mtpa to 12mtpa in 2015.
