They will be built atJiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding and Jiangsu Yangzi Xinfu Shipbuildingfor delivery in 2016.
Nofinancial terms were disclosed. The US-listed containership leaser now has 35ships on order at yards in Asia.
Theships will be built to Seaspan’sfuel-efficient SAVER design. The first ship built to that design, the Hanjin Buddha,was delivered last month.
Seaspansaid it expects to sign long-term time charters for these vessels with one ofthe major container liner companies in the near future.
