The John Dragnis-ledshipowner said it had sold the 4,953-teu MSC Socotra (built 1995) to UK-basedNKD Maritime Ltd for $11.3m.
Goldenport said thevessel’s delivery to the new owners has been scheduled to take place by the endof April 2014.
The London-listed Greekshipowner said it expects to realize a book profit of $3m on the sale, afteraccounting for brokerage commission and book value.
“In line with its strategy to phase out its containershipfleet over time, Goldenport has taken advantage of the current strong scrapprices and has sold one of its older vessels,” it said.
