Tuofu Shipping Management has sent the 64,000–dwt Tuo Fu 3 (built 1993) for demolition in Bangladesh at between $485 and $491 per ldt, it is claimed.
This translates to at least $7.7m for the owner of the bulker, which has been sold with 750 tons on bulkers on board.
The price was further aided by the 4,000 tons of renewed steel following its conversion from a tanker to a bulker in 2010, GMS says.
