TradeWinds understands the 22,000-cbm vessels have been placed by Nasdaq-listed StealthGas, as first reported in TradeWinds newspaper on Friday.

Clarksons had pegged them at $51m each.

Delivery is set for the first quarter of 2017. Two options are included in the deal.

As TradeWinds reported last week when uncovering the contract, the move marks StealthGas’s entry into the handysize space.

It currently focuses on the small pressurised ships, with 39 on the water.
