Epic buys LPG duo
Epic Gas confirmed Friday that it had purchased two modern 9,500-cbm LPG carriers for an undisclosed price.
The Lars Vang Christensen-led company said it had acquired the Mayfair (built 2007) and the Charlton (built 2006).
Epic Gas said the fully-pressurised carriers came with long term charter arrangements, but declined to name the counterparty.
Various shipping databases show the two ships to be controlled by Singapore-based company Komaya Shipping.
With these latest acquisitions Epic Gas now controls a fleet of 44 fully-pressurised carriers including newbuildings.
In early February Epic Gas raised $75m from the sale of 9.37m shares after listing on Oslo’s Over The Counter (OTC) market.
Epic Gas was formed in January 2013 by the union of Pacific Basin spin-off Epic Shipping and Diamantis Pateras Maritime offshoot Pantheon.
