The Hong Kong-listed company said four Coscon containerships and four Cosbulk bulkers had gone to different breakers between 1 May and 30 June for a total of CNY 124.44m ($20m).
They had an aggregate capacity of 331,294 dwt.
Losses from the deals amounted to CNY 35.33m.
“The board considers that the decommissioning of the vessels is conducive to enhancing the overall operational competitiveness of the shipping fleet of the company and is in the interest of the company and the shareholders as a whole,” it said.
