SCF pays $380m for trio

SCF Group (Sovcomflot) will pay $380m for a trio of stand-by vessels at Arctech Helsinki, the shipyard said today.

The Russian owner announced the contract in May against period charters with Sakhalin Energy Investment.

In revealing further details of the deal, Arctech Helsinki says design work on the 95 metre long ice-class vessels will begin immediately.

Delivery is penciled in for between September 2016 and March 2017.

Sovcomflot is also building a single platform supply vessel at the same yard.

Esko Mustamaki, managing director of Arctech Helsinki Shipyard, said today: “This remarkable order of one plus three vessels brings a lot of work to our shipyard and to the whole maritime cluster.

“We will also strengthen our organization considerably.”
