It said it had ended negotiations with employees over its intention to offload the 32,500-gt Finnhansa (built 1994).
The vessel has a crew of 36, but if it is sold, a maximum of 10 will be laid off until further notice, it added.
The company wants rid of the ship as new emissions rules approach from January.
It had previously admitted all crew contracts could be terminated.
