Compagnie Nationale Algerienne de Navigation (CNAN) is said to have acquired the 9,100-dwt Clipper Galaxy, Clipper Grand and Clipper Gemini (built 2011), according to Alphaliner.

The deal has been described as kick-starting the Algerian shipowner’s long-awaited fleet renewal program.

China’s Zhejiang Yangfan shipyard built the trio which features two 200t cranes that can be combined to lift 400t.

The container capacity is 681-teu in container-maximized mode, which is said to make them suitable for mixed trades combining containers, breakbulk and heavy-lift cargoes.
