Wartsila formed a company with state-owned shipbuilding group CSSC in July to manufacture ship systems in China.
Then last week Carnival announced a strategic tie-up with CSSC to look into developing and building the first major cruiseship in China.
CEO Bjorn Rosengren told TradeWinds: “Cruising has always been a strong area for us, most of the world’s cruiseships have our engines in them.”
