Korean media report that HHI staff carried out a four-hour stoppage, keeping their promise made a week ago.

The shipbuilder’s labour union claims 6,000 workers walked, but company officials say only 3,000 members participated.

Workers want a wage increase of KRW 132,000 ($120) but the company says it can only offer up to KRW 37,000.

Kwon Oh-gap, president of HHI, promised that the company will compensate the workers when it turns a profit.
