The new design

Lade said the hybrid vessel, which will also run on LNG, has a “symmetrical air foil” shape that will give it an aerodynamic lift.

It claims the vessel, called Vindskip, will cut emissions by up to 80% and fuel use by up to 60%.

The company has a Norwegian patent for the design.

Lade was formed in 2010 to develop the project.
