Mexico’s Baja Ferries and shipowner Christian Garin, the former president of Marseille port, were already known to have made offers.

Corsican businessman Patrick Rocca, Greek ferry group Attica, Swiss businessman Pierre Mollia and investors Adrien Scarso and Giglio Mazzoli are the others.

Baja, Garin, Rocca and Attica appear to be the frontrunners, according to daily Le Figaro.

The Mexican company has pledged to retain six of seven ferries and to keep 800 of 1,500 workers, with an investment of EUR 100m ($114.26m).
