Four 39,000-dwt vessels have been hiked to 64,000-dwt in a move which Precious attributes to technical difficulties faced by the yard.
The shipowner says it agreed to the change given the rapid delivery schedule promised.
Precious will pay $27.7m each for the new quartet, against the $21.96m agreed for the handysizes when the initial contract was penned in late 2013.
