The Philippines government said the 40-metre vessels are due for delivery by the third quarter of 2018.
They are part of the Maritime Safety Capability Improvement Project, intended to "enhance PCG to protect Philippine seas."
JMU put in a winning bid of PHP 12.9bn ($291.5m) for the job, Business World reported.
The multi-role response vessels (MRRVs) will be bought with official development assistance via a tied loan extended by the Japan International Cooperation Agency.
