ABC Maritime group has ordered three 21,800-dwt shallow draught chemical tankers newbuildings at a Triyards shipyard in Vietnam.
The Swiss-based manager said it expects to take delivery of the SCML Toronto, SCML Montreal and SCML Calgary in the second half of 2017. The vessels will be employed on the Canadian Great Lakes.
The orders were placed earlier this year for the account of Swiss-Canada Maritime, but news of the contract has only just emerged.
