Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction’s Philippines shipyard will need more workers to build three huge containerships for France’s CMA CGM.

The Manila Bulletin cited the yard’s managing director for external trade, Yoo Hoan Jo, as saying the order would likely mean additional Filipino staff being hired.

The company already employs 34,000 workers at the Subic Bay plant.

It is due to start building three 20,600-teu ultra-large containerships (ULCs) for CMA CGM next month.
