Teekay has upgraded a standard LNG carrier newbuilding on order at DSME into its first floating storage unit.
Seoul-listed DSME told investors the change is to a vessel first contracted in February last year.
A spokesperson for the shipbuilder declined to comment on the financial terms of the upgrade, which will be finished by the middle of 2018.
Data from Clarksons suggests the change refers to hull 2461, for which Teekay LNG initially paid $220m.
