Russia's Lotos Shipyard has reduced its 2015 loss as revenue grew.

The Astrakhan-based shipbuilder said the net deficit shrank 61% to RUB 297m ($4.57m).

Revenue increased almost six times to RUB 775.8m.

In January, Transpetrochart of St Petersburg signed up for two 8,000-dwt tankers at the yard, and Volgotrans of Samara also ordered two 6,710-dwt vessels.

Lotos could also benefit from Russia's huge dredger newbuilding plan.
