Indian coastal and feedership player Gati is in talks to sell a stake in its loss-making shipping business to Germany’s Bernhard Schulte.

A source close to the deal said Schulte would acquire a significant holding in Gati Ships, helping it to charter container vessels to capitalise on the growing cargo trade emerging out of India, the Economic Times reported.



"Gati has been looking to rope in a strategic partner of a global scale in the shipping business that will help restructure and grow the business with a new direction.
